Janjagruti Abhiyan, Vadodara was founded in 1999 during the Kargil war with a view to channelise the mood of the people to do something for the nation. It was registered with Charity Commissioner, Vadodara on 26th February, 2002 with registration no. E/6089/Vadodara.

The main activities of the Trust are as under:
• 1. To promote spirit of patriotism and brotherhood using the medium of Performing Arts.
• 2. To arrnage for Blood Donation camps.
• 3. To publish books depicting the life and works of the Freedom Fighters, eminent personalities in the field of Performing Arts/Fine Arts/Literature.
• 4. To promote education, Indian Culture, Literature, Dance, Drama, Folk Music etc.
• 5. To support the downtrodden and backward people with a view to supporting them in their education, livelihood etc. to enable them to become self reliant.
• 6. To arrange Meetings, Conferences, Seminars, Exihibitions, Talks etc.
• 7. To erect statues of renowned persons in various fields.
• 8. To undertake any activity in furtherence of the objects of the Trust as enumerated in the Trust Deed.

  Janjagruti Abhiyan, Vadodara had been instrumental in collecting donations of about Rs.1.5 crores and remitted the same to the Soldier Welfare Fund, Delhi for the benefit of the family members of the soldiers who had sacrificed theri lives during the Kargil War. The Trust also arranged many Blood Donation Camps during the Kargil War and made it available to the needy wounded soldiers.

  The Trust has so far published several books in Gujarati including "Yad Karo Kurbani'' (Author - Meeraben Bhatt), "Ojaswi Azad'' (on the life and works of renowned Freedom Fighter of Central Gujarat late Rasikbhai "Azad'' - Author -Shri Biren Kothari and its Hindi and English Versions are also published.), "Swatrantya Senani Ambalal Gandhi and Rasikbhai Azadf (Author - Shri Lalit Rana 'Atash Bharatiya'), "Chalo Gaiye Meghani Na Geeto'' (select poetries of Rashtriya Shayar Zavechand Meghani).

  The Trust has arranged performances of several dramas, Lok Dayaro, and Folk Music Programmes, Seminars etc. in Vadodara from time to time.
